Last night was First Thursday at Dulono’s Pizza in Minneapolis, MN. It was also the first time the temperatures have raised above 60F this year. With clear blue skies and temps around 63F, lots of motorcycles showed up. I’m going to guess a few hundred came and went. It wasn’t the thousand that the summer usually brings though.
There were some fun bikes! It was just as good as a custom bike show, but without the trailer queens. Since I really liked the way the Donnie Smith Bike Show video worked out, I made another similar video instead of photos. Enjoy!
PS: I rode my R1150GS which is shown in the video a couple times.
Dear Chris:
ReplyDeleteI realy enjoyed the video... And I think your "R" bike was the coolest. I stopped the video a couple of times to catch to study some of the bkes. There was a fully-faired bright yellow one with an "R" on it (Not BMW) thay seemed to have asome kind of see-thru distributer. What was that? I liked the custom rig that had the intake pipes hrough the gas tank. And there was another one, that seemen to have a porthole over the valves. I liked that one too.
Fondest regards,

Dear Jack: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I'm liking my R bike more and more. I just wish the clutch pull action required slightly less muscle.
ReplyDeleteThe bike with the R I believe was a Suzuki. The see-through bit I thought was the clutch, but it easily could have been a distributor too. :)
There was some very cool bikes. Almost more fun than the custom bike show since they all rode there!
I think the big yellow bike was an R1 with a special mod, I've never seen it before, but it was definitely Yamaha. The orange bike with the crazy pipes looked like a Harley scrambler mod, maybe an SR.
ReplyDeleteI envy a get together like this. Maybe when I move back to the midwest pretty soon I'll be able to roll in on my old pile of burning oil, the cb550.

Brady: Could be. It is a clear clutch cover. Here is a video of one on another bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbYwQDu5Jx4
