As you may be able to guess from the title, I am in Indianapolis. Last night they let ticket holders ride a parade lap on the track. We were supposed to stay below 30mph and not pass. We were also lead around by a pace bike. It was fun. Not as much fun at BIR, but still fun. It was nice to see the track from the riders perspective.

More posts are coming, but as you might imagine, I’ve been pretty busy hanging out at the track and riding. Stay tuned!
FUN!!
ReplyDeleteHow long did it take for you to quit smiling after that lap? Me thinks you are probably still smiling.
It was fun to see the track from the riders perspective, but not a hot lap at all. I probably won't ride the parade lap there again; I'd rather do a track day :-)
DeleteTrob, has beaten me to this. You may have to have that smile surgically removed. Good times, man!
ReplyDeleteIt was worth it to do once. :-)
DeleteWhat an opportunity! Though maybe even more fun if you were the only one on the track...
ReplyDeleteYes, more fun to be alone or at least get a couple laps in at speed.
DeleteLooked like the MMSC Coach Evening at DCTC, where some people are following the rules and random fools are riding however they want. Traveling the course at those speeds sort of explains the 200+ mph race conditions, though.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. It was cool to see the track artifacts they always talk about on TV ie: rubber marbles from the tires, dark lines on corner exit, etc
DeleteDear Chris:
ReplyDeleteDo my eyes deceive me, or did you get lapped in the first turn? How did that happen? What a fun opportunity.
Fondest regards,

I was enjoying the scenery. It wasn't a track day like i've done at BIR or DCTC.
