As promised here is the crash compilation video from this past weekend’s dirt biking. I am still working on the rest of the video, and then I’ll do a proper post about the Golden Eagle Trail Ride located in the “Zumbro Bottoms”
Enjoy!

thanks for a light-hearted look at falling and making fun of yourself! Been there, done that. Good news? The bike kept going like a little sewing machine. I love my WR250R! ;-) (Frankly, I'm amazed you didn't cuss---not even once!_
ReplyDeleteFantastic. My personal favourite was t-boning the kid! This only just beat getting attacked by the branch, which came a very close second. Thanks for making my day! I haven't laughed so much in a long time.... I hope you and the bike were both okay though.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of with Gary, can't decide if T-boning the Kid or getting taken down by a branch is better. If that would have been me the video would have been labeled NSFW. I suspect you were ready for a few days of RR after that ride. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. The WR250R is a great little bike. I just wish it was a bit lighter... It was getting heavy picking it up. Nope, I didn't cuss. No need. Falling is part of riding. Getting mad just ruins the fun; much better to just laugh at yourself and get back on!
ReplyDeleteGary: Thank you! I like when my friend said "I almost ran you over" LOL. Glad I could make you laugh. The bike needs a bit of TLC in the form of new handlebars. They are a bit bent, but the stock ones are quite wimpy. I was going to get new ones over the winter, but ran out of cash with all the camera purchases ;)
682202: Thanks! I was quite tired after that ride! It was on Saturday, and I think now I'm finally not still sore from the workout. No injuries, so all is good.
Whoa! Was that all on the same ride? I have some suggestions if you're interested...
ReplyDelete@reyzie: Yup, same ride. It was an all day Sat/Sun deal. Some of them caused by using the front brake too much (silly street habits), being too exhausted, and riding trails way above my skill. :) It was fun, and I'd do it again. Unfortunately, I have to wait until fall when these trails open again. They are only open twice a year.
ReplyDeleteChris.. this is why I lowered my bike!! Many of the falls are eliminated if you can get the training wheels down quicker... thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteBash3r: Yamalink or ? The D606s are good, but not as good as a proper dirt bike. I also need to not ride trails above my skill >:)
ReplyDeleteDear Chris:
ReplyDeleteThere is a great disparity in your idea of fun and mine.

Chris, that is just way too much "fun" for me. I rebroke my collar bone and suffered a fracture shin just watching this! I'm sure you heard me ouching and moaning! Wow!
ReplyDeleteJack and Sharon: The falling wasn't the fun part, the two days of riding awesome trails in the woods were! Falling is part of dirt riding, so I try to laugh at it.
ReplyDeletejej great video!! did you use your homemade chest mount for the gopro? it's stable? cheers!!
ReplyDeleteRaul: I did not use my homemade chest mount. I used the official GoPro chest mount. The mount I made was difficult to get on and off over gear. It was also hard to adjust. One of these days, I plan on improving it by replacing the rope with elastic straps like the official one.
ReplyDeletethanks for answer chris! I also try to build a chest mount like yours, but its kind of unstable doing mtb, so i ordered the official gopro chest mount :) cheers!
ReplyDeleteRaul: Good choice. I really like the official mount. It works well for most of my bikes.
