Stickers!

What to do with all those stickers? Nearly every time I buy something motorcycle related, it comes with at least one sticker. As I was cleaning my office over this past rainy weekend, I found a massive pile of them.

I decided I want to do something with them. I don’t like putting stickers on my vehicles, and I didn’t want to toss them into the trash.

I found this 24”x36” poster frame in the back of my closet.

The combination seems pretty promising. With some help from my wife we put the stickers on the paper and came out with this:

stickers!

We are both pretty pleased with how it turned out. It was a great rainy day project. I was originally going to put it in the garage, but I’m liking it too much. It will go in my office instead.

We had too many Sidi stickers, so I didn’t use all of them. Each pair of my Sidi boots came with a full sheet of stickers. I find it interesting that nearly everything I have purchased has come with a sticker. Even my $8 grips did, but my $1000 road race leathers and the accompanying gloves didn’t. Strange.

There is a bit of white space left, so I guess I need to go buy more gear and farkles to fill it up!! :) :)

  1. Dear Chris:

You have given me a good idea. I am going to send a note to the manufacturers of various motorcycle gear to tell them I will put one of their stickers on my pannier bags, if they send me a 10% refund (verifiable through a receipt) for advertising. I wonder how many would.

The program would have to be a bit more developed, requiring photographic proof as well... But mighty oaks grow from little acorns.

I left a couple of folding chairs with racer and fastest man on two wheels record-holder Chris Carr. He returned one covered with stickers from his sponsors. It is in a place of honor in my garage.

  2. Chris:

I've got tons of stickers/crests from scooter rallies but never got around to buying another jacket to put them on. How about cardboard tags you get with m/c accessories, just have to glue them yourself

  3. Dear Jack: LOL! Please start this and let me know how it goes. you may consider asking for an additional 10% off by asking them to keep the packaging and install instructions. You're just going to swipe that amex anyways! :) :)

Bob: The cardboard tags are all in a box near the trash. Some were neat, but I have to draw the line somewhere. You could stick the stickers/crests on your garage door like fuzzygalore.
