Overnight it snowed about six inches. It was still snowing when I clicked the Ural into 2WD and roared out of the driveway in a shower of snow.
I intentionally took neighborhood roads on the way to work to fully enjoy as many unplowed roads as possible. If only it would snow like this every day. I would hate running the snowblower that often, but I LOVE riding in snow! Commuting bliss.
Sweet! What's the recommended speed in 2WD mode? I live in Texas so not sure if I need the 2WD though.
ReplyDeleteThere is no recommended speed in 2WD. Just lock it in and go. There is a surface recommendation: only loose. No paved, so snow fits the bill nicely.
DeleteLooking good. Might as well have some fun on that commute!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, if you gotta go to work, ya might as well have fun getting there.
DeleteDamn that sounds like fun....quite envious.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. I'm envious of your mountains, so I guess we're even :-)
DeleteChris:
ReplyDeletewhen I had my Jeep I was always looking forward to the snow, and I would even go out looking for it.
these days, not so much . . .
enjoy it before it melts

Riding the Wet Coast
I used to look for it when I had my wrx before I got the Ural. More fun with the Ural though.
DeleteYou're a madman my friend. I love it. I haven't even started my car since February 8th in upstate new york.... Yeah it's time to get a Ural for next winter. The only still that still gets me is the gas mileage on a sidecar bike.
ReplyDeleteThe mpg on the Ural is dismal compared to the rest of my bikes, but it was the same of the car it replaced and much more fun.
DeleteYou see that was my mistake. I bought the Yaris just before all this motorcycle stuff started. If I'd replaced the Windstar with the Ural it would have gotten really great mileage, but compared to the Yaris....not so much. Oh well, there is still the garage thing.
ReplyDeleteClearly the only way to fix things is to move Keith :-) hehe
